Denia is the largest of the towns of the Northern Costa Blanca. The busy port of considerable size, comprising a fishing area, ferry port, yacht club and new marina, divides the Denia coastline into two, completely different sections known as Las Marinas and Las Rotas. With 20 km of mainly sandy beaches you will hardly find them crowded and a good selection of beach bars and restaurants means you should find your perfect spot nearby.
The main town extends in from the port which has a lovely bustley atmosphere. The fishermen sell their catch from here in the afternoons, the ferries for the Balearic islands leave from the port and the yacht club and new private marina provide a wealth of water sport activities such as sailing and diving classes or boat rental for the more experienced.
Denia´s main golf course is at La Sella, a superb 27-hole course, 8 km in from the coast. Non-golfers can relax at the neighbouring La Sella Golf Resort Hotel. In town there is a sports centre with running track, football pitch and pool, and the Montgó nature reserve is perfect for trekking.
Denia´s centre is mainly inhabited by local Spaniards, while the developments along the coastline are popular with holidaymakers from Valencia or Madrid who arrive in droves in July and August. Other nationalities find the balance of peaceful residential areas outside the town combined with the buzz of the centre a perfect place to make a home.
