The valley of Orba is made up of a diversity of villages of agricultural traditionand a lot of charm with spectacular and very soothing landscapes. Discover the magic of the inland Costa Blanca North through its hidden municipalities.

Beniarbeig

It is the closest municipality to the Costa Blanca and is characterized as a rich and prosperous agricultural Spanish town, one of the largest in the area, growing mainly citrus fruits. It is located next to the Girona River and at the foot of the Sierra Segaria mountain range, which makes it a very attractive area for hiking and landscaping.

Beniarbeig reflects the typical village atmosphere with church bells and tapas bars, but is only 5 km from the nearest beaches and a 10-minute drive from the golf courses of Oliva Nova and La Sella Golf.

Sanet y Negrals

Continuing 3 km further through orange groves and following the contours of the Sierra Segaria valley to the north, you come to the villages of Sanet y Negrals, which over the years have become one. The village square is surrounded by impressive pine trees and offers open views across the fertile plains of the valley towards Orba.

Sanet y Negrals is a small farming village and its position in the Girona river valley ensures fertile soils for cultivation. Sanet y Negrals is a quiet and peaceful place with several large buildings of historical value such as El Palacete de la Señoría.

Benimeli

In the blink of an eye, Sanet is behind you as you arrive in Benimeli, a small village with many charming traditional village houses with double entrance doors originally designed to allow horses and carts to pass through the house to their stable inside.

Benimeli is the closest village to the sierra and at the height of 506 meters, so offers some of the best routes to reach the top of the mountain. It is an extremely interesting walk along the steep white roads that climb up to the sierra. Benimeli is the ideal place for those who wish to experience the authentic flavor of a typical Spanish village, with a bar-restaurant, two grocery stores, a bakery, butcher's shop, pharmacy, small post office, cultural and municipal sports center.

Its infrastructure is sufficient to meet the needs of all, both residents and visitors who drop in and seduce by this charming village. Undoubtedly, an ideal destination to relax, disconnect with the landscape and enjoy rural and natural tourism.

Rafol D'Almunia

Rafol D'Almunia is located just 250 meters away. The village was created by the Marquis of Almunia, in 1535 in an attempt to unite the local peasants with the Arabs who ruled the region. Ráfol de Almunia is a small village whose inhabitants are mainly engaged in citrus farming.

Sagra

In a couple of kilometers more you will reach Sagra, one of the last strongholds of the Arabs before their expulsion in 1609 and the repopulation of the area with farmers from Mallorca. The village to this day still retains its Moorish architectural influence with narrow streets and alleys at the foot of Mount Caval, appropriately named, as its twin peaks resemble the ears of a horse.

Tormos

At the head of the valley is Tormos. The Costera del Moll picnic site offers spectacular views of the sea, with the castle of Denia on the horizonless than 16 kilometers away. The village lies at the foot of the Sierra del Recingle mountain range, next to Monte Caval and Migdía Sierras, which means it is an excellent place for hiking. Tormos is mainly dedicated to the cultivation of fruit. Its inhabitants enjoy a quiet life, they can often be seen playing dominoes in the streets.

Orba

The cosmopolitan town of Orba has been attracting northern European residents for over thirty years, and this is evident in the variety of different bars and restaurants. Throughout the town there are natural springs which explain how Orba takes its name from the Arabic "Ur-Obia" which means "from where the water springs."

The Moorish influence can be seen in Orba, like Sagra, with its narrow streets and architecture. It is the most inland town in the area, its economy is essentially agricultural with a tendency towards citrus fruits, although almonds and olives are also grown. The pottery industry and the manufacture of handbags is also very popular here.

Benidoleig

Back towards the coast is Benidoleig, another small farming village located at the foot of the Sierra de Seguili. It is a quiet village with steep streets and views of the vineyards, almond and olive trees, the main economic activity of the village.

The Cueva de Calaveras is the main attraction of the village. It got its name from the 12 skulls found inside when it was discovered in 1768. It was established that these were the skulls of Arabs who had died during earlier explorations of the caves. Bronze and Neolithic remains have also been discovered. A 400 m passage inside the cave ends in a beautiful interior lake.
